Our Senior School Curriculum

Our Senior School offers a strong and balanced curriculum that prepares learners for academic success, personal growth, and future opportunities. We follow the required South African curriculum standards and support learners through each phase of their education.

Senior Phase: Grade 7 to Grade 9

In the Senior Phase, learners continue to build a strong academic foundation. They are introduced to a wider range of subjects that help them develop thinking skills, creativity, responsibility, and confidence.

Subjects offered include English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language or IsiZulu First Additional Language, Mathematics, Economic and Management Sciences, Creative Arts, Natural Sciences, Social Sciences, and Life Orientation.

FET Phase: Grade 10 to Grade 12

In the Further Education and Training Phase, learners begin to focus more seriously on their future study and career paths. The curriculum becomes more specialised and allows learners to grow in subjects that match their strengths and goals.

Subjects offered include English Home Language, Afrikaans First Additional Language or IsiZulu First Additional Language, Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, Business Studies, Accounting, History, Physical Sciences, Geography, Computer Applications Technology, Life Sciences, and Life Orientation.

Academic Support

At Mtuba Christian Academy, we are committed to helping learners succeed. Our curriculum follows the required education policies while giving learners the support they need to improve and grow.

We provide extra tuition where needed, especially in subjects where learners may need more guidance. We also offer a specialised Mathematics programme to help strengthen understanding, confidence, and performance.

Promotion Requirements

Learners are promoted according to the official academic requirements for each phase.

In Grades 7 to 9, learners must achieve the required levels in English Home Language, Afrikaans or IsiZulu First Additional Language, Mathematics, and other subjects.

In Grades 10 to 12, learners must meet the required percentage marks in English Home Language, Afrikaans or IsiZulu First Additional Language, Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy, and their other chosen subjects.

These requirements help ensure that learners are ready for the next grade and have the skills needed to continue their educational journey with confidence. At MCA, we encourage every learner to work hard, stay focused, and reach their full potential.
