Junior School Subjects

MCA follows the South African national (CAPS) curriculum:

Grade 1 to 3:

• English Home Language
• Afrikaans FAL
• IsiZulu FAL
• Mathematics, and
• Life Skills

Grade 4 to 6:

• English Home Language,
• Afrikaans FAL
• IsiZulu FAL
• Mathematics
• Life Skills
• Social Sciences
• Natural Sciences and Technology

Promotion Requirements:

• The pass mark is 50%
• English, FAL (combined) and Mathematics must be passed
• If a subject is failed, the learner must obtain at least 30% and above or the learner will not be promoted
