Mtuba Christian Academy designs and delivers learning programmes and assessments for basic education in accordance with the policy requirements of the qualifications as registered on the General and Further Education and Training Phase, and provides appropriate support for learning.
Extra tuition is given to students st
ruggling in certain subjects, and a specialised Math programme is also available.
PROMOTION REQUIREMENTS:
Grade 7- 9
- Adequate Achievement (Level 4: 50-59%) in English HL,
- Moderate Achievement (Level 3: 40-49%) in Zulu or Afrikaans at FAL level,
- Moderate Achievement (Level 3: 40-49%) in Mathematics, and
- Moderate Achievement (Level 3: 40-49%) in any FOUR (4) of the other required subjects
- At least an Elementary Achievement (Level 2, (30-39%)) in the 2 remaining subjects
NOTE: Immigrant learners may be exempted from achieving one official language, provided they obtain at least Level 3, (40-49%) in FIVE (5) subjects in (d) above.
Grade 10-12
A learner must obtain at least:
- 50% in English HL
- 40% in Afrikaans FAL or IsiZulu FAL,
- 40% in Mathematics or Math Literacy
- 40% in three (3) other subjects, one of which must be Life Orientation
- 30% in one other subject
NOTE: The above is based on an eight (8) subject package.
A learner must offer two official languages unless classified as an immigrant.
