MCA students shines at the UN Oceans Conference in the US

Our Grade 9 student, Buntu Sibiya, represented the Isimangaliso Wetland Park and the entire country at the Oceans Conference held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York (US) in May 2017.

On World Oceans Day, Buntu was one of the top three selected to deliver a message to more than 2 000 delegates, 40 heads of state and royalty at the gala event.

“I pledge to protect the ocean for future generations, to raise awareness of the activities such as over-fishing and ocean mining responsible for the death of our ocean,” were closing words from Buntu’s speech.
